We use Inspire all day, every day. From basic names and addresses on postcards to complex campaigns with highly customized documents and procedures. The slow speeds of other applications are one problem that Inspire handles very well for us - it's really fast. The ability to connect into a database is another great advantage. A more general response is how robust this platform is. It handles every challenge we throw at it, and we recognize we're only using a small fraction of what the software has to offer.

  • There are some UI issues we hoped would be resolved in R15 that weren't, it would be great to see those resolved.
  • Seems to struggle to run smoothly on the Mac platforms.
  • We have a "sheet backgrounder" module, would LOVE a sheet foregrounder one. We have work arounds but would love to do that natively.
We do use it for smaller jobs, and it feels a little bit like an overkill, so management asks us if we're using the right tool for the job. It's a valid question.

I currently use Quadient Inspire Designer and Inspire Automation to securely create some of the worlds most complex and confidential documents. This is both on an ADHOC basis (just designer) and repeated automated work (Designer and Automation combined). This is the best on the market that we have used at achieving both of these goals.

  • The occasional endless loop crash (Probably more to do with my coding than the software though)
Quadient Inspire is suited anywhere that creates and distributes any type of content out to the public. This can either be physical documents or via dynamic communications. This software will revolutionise the way that you engage your customer base. The software while fairly user friendly will need some experience in the software or some training at the beginning.

We use Quadient Inspire to create mail merges of various degrees of complexity and formats for numerous services, advertising and marketing campaigns. This may include transactional processes such as invoices, statements, demands etc. It has enabled us to broaden the scope of what we do, from using client supplied databases to capturing information directly from pre-printed PDFs. The flexibility of this tool enables us to meet most of the demands of our customers in ways that would have been much more problematic in the past.
  • I am impressed with the way that documents can be inserted as images or natively to create the greatest flexibility of production from final file sizes and formats to amending content via personalisation with the minimum of difficulty.
  • The intuitive drag and drop facility in the workflows makes even complex processes easy to work with despite potentially appearing daunting at first sight.
  • Modules are capable of great adaptability and precision from inserting crop marks, imposing multiple copies onto single sheets, capturing data from input documents etc that make otherwise serious problems practical to solve.
  • Scripting gives almost limitless power to manipulate data and documents to fulfil the requirements of our customers across a wide breadth of possibilities.
  • There is an excellent and responsive community on hand to provide expert advice when we are challenged by either the application itself or what we need to achieve using it.
  • Scripting is quite daunting to the uninitiated and more help would be appreciated.
  • Transactional mail is quite complex to put together but that is to be expected from its very nature. Although we did receive some additional basic training on this, it still remains a little unclear.
  • Some of the error messages received during processing could be more specific so that the user can diagnose more effectively the issue at hand.
Inspire Designer is supremely well adapted to preparing new workflows from scratch for basic mail merging solutions. In some cases, the final output can be created in just a few minutes. But if the requirement is more complex such as using variable document artwork or conditional data it can be used in an effective straightforward way. It is well suited to so much of what our customers ask of us, even if they want things that at first seem unusual. For repeat work, templates can be set up that speed processing up immeasurably when compared with previous methods.

In our organization, We are currently using Quadient Inspire Designer, Inspire Content Manager, Inspire Interactive and Inspire Scaler in our projects. Now a days in the market Quadient is one of the most reliable CCM applications. By using Quadient Inspire products we can deliver paper-based, e-mail-based and digital-based communication to customers.

  • So far everything is seems fine with Quadient products.
  • They should include easy migration with all other technology.
  • They should include features to rename all the layout objects automatically as per the context of the respective project.
I have developed very simply one-page letters with Quadient Inspire products as well as complex booklets of 200 to 300 pages. I personally feel that by using Quadient products we can give personalized output to our customers. Through Quadient products, I have always been able to solve any type of CCM problem.

Quadient Inspire has no competition in CCM industry. This tool is full of Inbuilt functions and powerful features to compose documents and CCM services. We use Quadient Inspire for print, email, and online communication of marketing, statement, notification, and regulatory compliance documents and information. We send millions of communication annually, from thousands of internal sources. Inspire helps us to unify these communications into one platform and interface, and allows us to efficiently manage these communications.

The suite of [Quadient] Inspire consists of Content Manager, Designer, Interactive, and Scaler. Certified Inspire Designer developers create master templates and other form/document types in addition to developing Scaler workflows for production processing. The master templates created by the developers are made available through Content Manager to Business Authors at various Lines of Business for enhancing with additional content in the Inspire Interactive environment.

We use Quadient Inspire throughout our organisation by a number of teams, from our studio, transactional teams, internal systems dev, my team's Professional Services, as well with some of our proprietary systems. We use it to deliver dynamic solutions to our clients challenges and needs. It gives us the power to deliver projects that our competitors can’t deliver within our agile timeframes and complexity.
  • Data processing, you can do things quicker and safer than with other tools
  • Dynamic content, the ability to drive complex dynamic documents completely data driven
  • Produce multi channel communications such as DM, emails, notifications, micro sites and SMS
  • Integration with other systems and tools such as Salesforce & Litmus
  • The HTML module isn’t the easiest to use so my development is often twinned with Dreamweaver
  • Designers pixel units don’t stack up with Dreamweaver so it’s takes a little calculation to get your desired HTML look and feel if using layout module
  • More free training especially for new users
Any document and data composition it’s great for and perfect, for HTML development not so great, but you can circumnavigate that by doing your development in other tools until you need to work on your variable HTML content

We do three things with Quadient Inspire: Honor communication preferences by sending letters either in paper form or electronically through secure delivery; Consolidate similar communications to personalize and customize letters; Maintain a central repository of content, fonts, images and variables.

We're currently using Quadient for dozens of letters across multiple departments. It helps us make our communications consistent, accurate, timely and personalized. Before using Quadient Inspire, we had to do manual changes across hundreds of letters. Now we can make changes to things like colors, phone numbers, CST hours and more in minutes. It's taken away a lot of the frustration and busy work from my day-to-day job and allows me to focus on improving communications to better the member experience.

Quadient Inspire has been used in my organization for over 9 years as a composition tool for both batch and real time communication generation. It is used in several divisions for both Marketing and regulated communications. Quadient helps our company better manage content for both print and digital channels along with dynamic HTML communications.

  • Great ability to manipulate print ready files to restructure content or pull data from the content of old legacy print to create new digital communications.
  • Production run time instance model could be more robust to not cause all processing to fail if one occurrence fails.

Quadient is a great software provider with great support for their Inspire product. They are a front runner of new features to the CCM and CXM software market. We use their product for both composition and print file reengineering. I would recommend this software for anyone trying to move from print to digital output.

Our Customer Communications Management team selected Quadient Inspire as the strategic tool for Composition and Delivery for our correspondence need. We are migrating several legacy applications to the Inspire platform. We are also using Quadient DAS and messenger to help drive digital strategy and customer preference. We have been able to utilize the Inspire suite to automate many manual processes and assist internal users in completing their work more efficiently.

Moving to Quadient [Inspire] has improved the amount of time to produce production files. It has given us the ability to use common templates for web previews and production.

Quadient [Inspire] is well suited for almost any variable data creation and production. It provides scalability when needed. Compared to other variable data software it is much easier and faster to use. It is also much faster at producing production files then other variable data software. Our major complaint with the software is the complexity needed to produce simple impositions.

As a service provider across many industries, RRD has a wide range of requirements for document composition. These reach across the spectrum from managing precomposed document streams through document composition from data with CCM integration and a great variety of blended requirements. We represent customers in nearly every aspect of business and consumer communications from insurance to medical to utility to transactional to kitting and more. These varied industries also have equally varying output requirements. The Inspire tool suite fills many of these requirements with a solid performance that we rely on for continuous automated production. The flexibility of Inspire Designer is second to none and a critical part of our solution architecture.
  • Highly flexible data ingestion
  • Clear and powerful workflow design that makes support easy to understand as teams evolve
  • Great internal debugging tool that simplifies and accelerates the development cycle
  • Powerful scripting structure available at nearly every aspect of data management, composition, and finishing allowing for specialized requirements not available in the standard toolset to be met
  • More flexibility in licensing would be beneficial to our unique requirements as a large service provider
  • The Min/Max tool is an easy way to extract either extreme from each field of a data set, but it doesn't generally produce viable data for a complex data structure. A tool that could generate "test" data in a similar way but with the ability to provide parameters regarding the construction would be very beneficial. Often, good test data is often a major delay in starting or testing composition development. This is especially true where PII is involved.
  • As stated earlier, the debug tools are a fantastic tool within Inspire Designer, but there are times when the resulting error seems a bit cryptic. One way to enhance this functionality would be adding a link from the error to a related discussion on the user forum.
  • Add a tool as part of the proofer that is a robust screen reader. This could test for ADA compliance and highlight things that don't meet the standard and link back to the exact area in the design where the tag is available.
  • I'd like to be able to have two views of the document tree open simultaneously showing different segments of the hierarchy.
  • I would like ways to more easily gather related document resources (flows, etc.) and manage their names and family containers other than individually (or having to export as XML and try to manage that behemoth without making a mistake that kills the workflow)
I've been using Quadient Inspire for 14 years. I'm still waiting for the realistic design challenge based on variable data document construction that I am not able to meet. I've had some pretty good challenges, but none that were unsolvable.

Inspire is used to turn large sets of boring data into amazing looking client communications. XML and SQL data go in at one end, its then restructured and manipulated, and then put back together before being integrated into various layout templates.

In the most simple terms, it allows us to present clients' data to them in a way that is professional-looking, informative and user-friendly.

  • It has a really steep learning curve.
  • There is always more to learning and it may take years to find every feature that's useful to you.
  • Its not cheap, but then again, what enterprise software is?
We use it for producing all forms of reports and correspondence going out of the business. This ranges from simple letters to complex reports.

Our most complex process takes in 20,000+ line XML's and data from multiple SQL servers and CSV's and merges them into 100+ page reports featuring custom explanations, graphs, tables and graphics.

I consult other Quadient users in the region. I help them with creating workflows, from basic to advanced. My customers use Quadient Inspire Designer on a daily basis. They come from various industries—print shop providers, telecommunication, insurance, and banking. The main usage is data transformation and document creation.
  • Able to import any possible input—text and CSV files, XML, databases and anything else.
  • Very quick creation of workflows. Any imaginable output can be created in a short time period.
  • Easy to use modules can get you started very quickly, but advanced scripting features provide a tool which can handle any possible task.
  • It is a bit harder to start on your own without a week of guided training (or at least not recommended).
It is perfect for any large-scale variable document composition. Workflows and templates for Invoices, reminders, contracts, and many more can be created in a matter of hours. The performance is awesome! Creating millions of pages in a matter of hours. The handling of the output is exceptional—grouping, merging, splitting, you name it. It is particularly well suited for large-scale migrations. I have personally managed many migrations, reducing the number of templates by as much as 80%.

Quadient Inspire was chosen as an enterprise solution that would replace 8-9 legacy platforms and provide a single 'best of breed' Customer Communications Management platform.

Within New Zealand Post Quadient Inspire is only used by the Customer Communications Management department, which offers solutions outside of the core business solution of postal network and courier services.

The business problems it addresses include, reduction of legacy platforms and cost, offering customers industry leading solutions and the ability to offer new solutions in the digital channel.
  • Single toolset - ability to do both data and layout within a single platform allows developers to be cross-skilled and enhance the end-to-end processes.
  • Flexibility of composition - content can be configured to be re-used for correct channel output rather than duplicating content that creates overhead for future changes.
  • Roadmap - Quadient's ability to continually have an eye on the future and setting new standards is a high benefit over other products
  • Licensing for Quadient Inspire can be a little bit frustrating, how and where you can connect and use Inspire can be restrictive.
  • Almost too flexible - the ability to do things in multiple different ways allows for developers to 'replicate' practices from legacy platforms and therefore introduce complexity that is hard to maintain.
  • Given the market in New Zealand being smaller it can be difficult to get the appropriate support for the product.
Quadient Inspire is a great tool for organisations that are focused on establishing and maintaining a platform that will allow them to evolve through Customer Communications, Customer Experience and Digital Experience Management. As it allows for solutions to be put in place that are flexible yet robust for long-term solutions and offers the ability to provide highly relevant and timely customer interactions.

If your business is looking for a simple get-it-to-the-customer solution Inspire is likely not the right toolset for you.
